Coming into the year of best books 2017, my goals was to read 20 books for the year of 2017. I must say 2017 have been really good to me and my family. I really don’t have nothing to complain about. I enjoy reading and improving my knowledge. Reading is a way for me to indulge into my curiosity.

Being able to pick up a book and connect with the author and learn from the author is priceless. Its as if you’re getting one on one mentoring, of course depending on the book you read. Books are the best ways to explore new topics that excite and interest you.

Based of my list below I was able to learn from each and every author.

1st Crucial One in Sales and Marketing is the way your company startup is organized. The marketing organization generally consist of people who do marketing, people with expertise in market research, advertising, communications, event coordinator, brochure production and so on. They are the people who know how to put together a marketing plan. Look into considering adding these type of people to your team.

2nd Crucial mistake is the failure to define specific business goals. You want to define where the business is coming from. How much is coming from existing customers? New customers? Large Accounts, Small Accounts, In what Geographies.

3rd Crucial mistake startups do not know their customers. You want to know your customers, like really know them, because most startups really don’t know who their customers are, why their customers buy or how.  

4th Crucial mistake is not knowing your customer buying cycle. Important fact, if you don’t know how your customer buys, then how can you develop an efficient successful selling strategy. The buying cycle is the process you and everyone else go through when making a purchase. Your buying cycle may be very short or fast if you are buying something inexpensive. The more expensive, complex, or important the purchase is the longer and more difficult to buy the product or service.

5th Crucial mistake consists of poorly created sales messages. Take a pause and ask yourself, are your sale messages powerful enough to get your target audience to take action? Go the extra step in your sales message by saying how your products or services can impact productivity, explaining why that should be important to your customer, and how much impact it will have on their business.
